About

Den reinvents Japanese multi-course kaiseki with humour and warmth. Since moving from Jimbocho to a modern space in Jingumae in 2016, Hasegawa and his team have drawn diners from around the world with dishes like the Den salad (dozens of seasonal vegetables, each prepared differently), monaka wafers filled with foie gras, and the famous Dentucky Fried Chicken, a deboned wing stuffed with sticky rice and seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff memorable, and the sake pairings excellent. Den has two Michelin stars and ranked No. 1 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants in 2022. Reservations are very hard to get, so plan weeks ahead.
