Hamamatsucho Station Manneken Pis 浜松町駅 小便小僧
A small Manneken Pis statue on the Hamamatsucho Station platform that local volunteers dress in a new costume every month, one of Tokyo's quirkiest snapshots.
About
The statue stands at the south (Tamachi) end of platforms 3 and 4 of JR Hamamatsucho Station, on the Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines. It has been here since 1952 and is dressed in a different hand-made outfit each month, from Santa Claus to summer festival wear, so the photo is never the same twice. Shoot from the platform side at eye level, between trains, with the outfit filling the frame. You need a valid ticket or IC card to be on the platform; stand behind the yellow line, do not block passengers, and never use flash toward arriving trains.
Highlights
