About

Hamamatsucho's quirkiest resident is a small bronze Manneken Pis at the Tamachi end of platforms 3 and 4, a replica of the Brussels original. For more than half a century, local volunteers have dressed him in a new outfit every month, from Edo-era firefighter happi to seasonal kimonos and campaign costumes, and commuters check in on his wardrobe. Upstairs, the Tokyo Monorail sets off for Haneda Airport, riding high along canals, warehouses and the bay, with planes landing beside you as you approach the airport. Front seats offer a ride that feels like a slow roller coaster. Zojoji temple and Tokyo Tower are 10 minutes' walk to the west.
