About
Hachikokuyama Ryokuchi follows a low, wooded ridge in the Sayama Hills, named 'eight provinces mountain' because eight old provinces could once be seen from its top. Gentle paths run through oak and cherry woods past small clearings, with the iris fields of Kitayama Park at the foot. The area is often linked to the Sayama Hills landscapes that inspired Ghibli's My Neighbor Totoro, and it remains a peaceful local walking spot.
