Chuka Soba Kyoraku (Ginza) 中華そば 共楽
A tiny Ginza counter serving old-school chuka soba since 1956, beloved for its clean shoyu soup and thick slabs of chashu at prices that ignore the neighbourhood.
Chashu-men: ¥1,350
About
Kyoraku opened in 1956 on a back street of Ginza 2-chome and still feels like a neighbourhood shop for the people who work in Ginza rather than shop there. The menu is short: chuka soba in a clear, aromatic shoyu broth with fine noodles, wantanmen, and chashu-men with thick, tender slices of roast pork that regulars swear by. Seating is tight and lunchtime queues of office workers move quickly. It closes early, so this is a lunch or late-afternoon stop rather than dinner.
