Albatross is one of the friendliest Golden Gai bars for first-timers. The ground floor is a tight, chandelier-hung counter, the second floor has a little more room, and the steep stairs lead to a tiny upper level that is the quietest seat in the house. Drinks include house-infused spirits, a chilli gin buck and a cactus sour, alongside hot sake and wine. English is spoken, groups are welcome and the cover is low by Golden Gai standards. There is a sister branch in Omoide Yokocho.
