About

Founded by the Dentsu-linked Yoshida Hideo Memorial Foundation, ADMT tells the story of Japanese marketing through hundreds of objects: Edo-period shop signboards, woodblock-printed adverts and kabuki promotions, Meiji beer and cigarette posters, wartime propaganda, and the creative boom of postwar TV. A large table and touch screens let you browse a digital archive of thousands of Japanese commercials and award-winning campaigns. Temporary exhibitions change regularly; autumn 2026 features a show on the Tokyo Copywriters Club awards. The museum also has a library on advertising and marketing. Admission is free, and it is entirely underground, so it is a good rainy-day stop in Shiodome.
