Minato Ohashi Bridge 港大橋
A giant red cantilever truss across Osaka Port with a 510 m centre span, the longest truss span in Japan and one of the longest in the world.
About
Opened in 1974, Minato Ohashi carries the Hanshin Expressway over the entrance to Osaka Port between Minato Ward and the Sakishima (Nanko) island. Its 510 m central span is Japan's longest truss span and third longest in the world, and the bridge is a double-deck structure 980 m long. There is no pedestrian access, but the red truss dominates the views from the Tempozan area, the Osaka Port waterfront and the Santa Maria harbour cruise, and it lights up the bay at night.
