About

In the hills of Katano city, on the eastern edge of Osaka prefecture, the Osaka Prefectural Citizens Forest Hoshida Park offers walking trails, a climbing wall and campgrounds, and its star attraction, Hoshi no Buranko (the star swing). The bridge spans 280 m at a height of about 50 m, with views over the Kisaichi valley and, on clear days, the Osaka plain. It is especially beautiful in mid-to-late November when the forest turns red and gold. Reaching it means a hike of about 30-40 minutes from Kisaichi Station on the Keihan Katano Line, uphill on a well-maintained trail, making it a good half-day nature outing near the city.
