About

Hiraoka Shrine is said to predate Emperor Jimmu's enthronement and its deity Ame-no-Koyane was moved to Nara's Kasuga Taisha, hence the nickname Moto-Kasuga. The grounds have a plum grove and deer motifs, and hiking trails lead up toward Mount Ikoma. It is right by Kintetsu Hiraoka Station.
