About

Opened in October 2024 in a converted Nintendo plant in Ogura, Uji, where the company made hanafuda cards and later repaired consoles, the Nintendo Museum traces the company's 130-year history from cards and toys like the Ultra Hand and Love Tester to every console and game. The second floor is a vast display of products shown in date order with large-screen game timelines. On the first floor, interactive exhibits put a giant controller in your hands, let you play classic light-gun games, Ultra Hand challenges and an oversized Nintendo board game, using coins given with your ticket. A cafe with Hatena-shaped burgers and a museum shop with exclusive merch complete the visit. Tickets are sold by date-specified lottery through a Nintendo Account, typically two months ahead, with some dates first-come first-served. More than one million visitors had come by July 2026.
