About

Kyoto Station has thousands of lockers scattered across the Central Exit, the West Exit 2F passage, the B1 locker room and the Shinkansen transfer area, but the largest concentration lines the corridor on the Hachijo side, by the Shinkansen Central Exit, Kintetsu and the highway bus stops. Sizes run from small (backpacks) to extra-large (big suitcases), and most accept ICOCA and other IC cards as well as coins, so you can pay and use the card as your key. In peak seasons the large ones are gone by mid-morning; the free Kyoto Station Smart Navi map shows live availability for most banks, which saves you wandering the station with a suitcase. If everything is full, Crosta Kyoto (B1, Central Exit) and the Sagawa counter on the Hachijo side are the staffed fallbacks.
