Kyoto's city buses go almost everywhere, but the route network is bewildering and the big terminal in front of Kyoto Station has a dozen lettered boarding zones. This small Kyoto City Transportation Bureau office, facing the bus terminal on the Karasuma (north) side, is the place to sort it out. Staff sell the Subway and Bus 1-Day Pass and other tickets, hand out the excellent free Bus Navi route map in several languages, and will tell you which boarding zone serves which destination. They also handle lost property for city buses and subways.
