Hankyu's Kyoto terminus has a large bank of about 170 lockers by the East Gate near Exit 3, plus banks by the Central Gate ticket machines and Exits 4 and 8. The main locker hub for Shijo-Kawaramachi, Pontocho and Gion.

About

Kyoto-kawaramachi is where Hankyu trains from Osaka-umeda terminate, under the Shijo-Kawaramachi crossing. The biggest bank is near Exit 3 off the East Gate: about 135 small, 25 medium and 12 large units, coin-operated. Others stand by the Central Gate ticket machines and by Exits 4 and 8. All are outside the gates. Above ground, Pontocho, Nishiki Market, Teramachi and Shinkyogoku arcades and the Kamo River are minutes away, and Gion is a 5-minute walk over Shijo Bridge.

Tips

• The Hankyu Tourist Center Kyoto-kawaramachi in the station is a staffed backup
• If full, Gion-shijo (Keihan) is 5 minutes east across the river
• Most lockers are cleared after 3 days and the contents go to the station lost-property office, so don't use them for multi-day storage
