About

Sen no Kaze is one of Kyoto's most-reviewed ramen shops, run by a chef from Taiwan who serves miso, shoyu and shio ramen with house-made noodles. The draw is the chashu: thick slabs of pork, braised and seared, that dominate the bowl. Seats are limited to a small counter, so the line outside, on a side street off Kawaramachi, is part of the ritual. Staff speak some English and Chinese and the ordering is simple.
