Kamesho Kurukuru Sushi 亀正くるくる寿し
Beppus cult conveyor-belt sushi near Kannawa: Oita fish on the belt, giant toppings and queues of locals. The best-value way to taste seki-saba.
About
Kamesho is a local kaiten-zushi on the road down from Kannawa onsen town, and it is famous across Oita for toppings so big they hide the rice, plus local fish including seki-saba and seki-aji when available, shellfish and seasonal specials announced on the wall. Prices are low for the quality and it serves continuously through the afternoon, so it suits a late lunch after the Hells of Beppu. Expect a line at weekends; write your name on the waiting list and wander.
