About

Plane spotters know this 2.2-hectare park on reclaimed Ukishima as one of the best ground-level vantage points for Haneda. It sits on the Kanagawa side of the Tama River mouth, looking straight across at the ends of runways A and D, so you can photograph aircraft holding before take-off, then climbing out over the water, often surprisingly close. After dark, the illuminated Terminal 3 and the long lines of landing lights make for dramatic long exposures, with Kawasaki's factory lights behind you. There are few facilities and no parking, which keeps it quiet: just a promenade, benches and the noise of jet engines.
