About
Western Tokyo is a world away from Shinjuku, and this branch of the official Tokyo Tourist Information Center, on 3F of the ecute Tachikawa station mall, exists to open it up. Staff (Japanese, English, Chinese) cover Mt. Takao, the Okutama and Ome valleys, Hinohara village, Showa Kinen Park and the Tama area's onsen and hiking routes, as well as general Tokyo information. There is free Wi-Fi, PCs and power outlets. Tachikawa is the junction for the Chuo, Ome, Itsukaichi and Nambu lines and the Tama Monorail, so this is the logical stop before heading further west.

- Ask for Okutama and Ome Line timetables: trains thin out west of Ome
- Showa Kinen Park is a short walk from Tachikawa or Nishi-Tachikawa; ask which gate suits the seasonal flowers
