Tokyo Ramen Street 東京ラーメンストリート
A basement row of eight-ish top ramen shops inside Tokyo Station's Yaesu side, with lines for Rokurinsha tsukemen from before opening.
About
Inside the First Avenue Tokyo Station (Tokyo Eki Ichibangai) mall on the Yaesu side, Tokyo Ramen Street gathers a rotating line-up of famous shops so travellers can sample different styles without crossing the city. Long-term residents include Rokurinsha (thick, rich tsukemen with fish powder), Soranoiro NIPPON (including a vegan veggie soba), Hirugao (shio), Oreshiki Jun (tonkotsu), Ikaruga, and Ramen Gyoku (niboshi). Each shop has its own ticket machine and queue. The line-up changes periodically, with limited-time pop-ups from regional shops.
Highlights
- Rokurinsha's dense pork-and-seafood tsukemen, famous for its morning queue
- Soranoiro NIPPON's vegan veggie soba
- Several ramen styles side by side: shio, shoyu, tonkotsu, niboshi, miso
- Inside the station: perfect before a shinkansen
