About

Tennozu Isle is a small reclaimed island of offices and warehouses that has turned into one of Tokyos most pleasant canal-side neighbourhoods. The wooden boardwalk runs along the Tennozu canal beside the T.Y. Harbor brewery restaurant and the converted Terrada warehouses, which now house galleries, an art supplies store and a museum, with large murals painted on the warehouse walls. Water taxis and party boats tie up along the canal, the bridges are lit at night, and in spring and autumn the neighbourhood holds canal festivals with market stalls on the water. It feels a world away from the station crowds of Shinagawa, two stops away.
