Sushidokoro Kiraku 鮨処 喜楽
One Michelin star (2026) in residential Kyodo: a third-generation family sushi shop reborn as an affordable omakase counter with aged, marinated and cured Edomae fish.
About
Kiraku was once a neighbourhood sushi shop known for its catering; its third owner read the times and turned it into an omakase counter serving appetisers and nigiri. Traditional Edomae techniques (ageing, marinating and curing) remain at the core, the chef is friendly and his wife handles the grilled dishes. The Michelin Guide singles out the reasonable prices, which make this one of the most affordable starred sushi meals in Tokyo, and a great excuse to see a quiet residential side of Setagaya.
