The world's first Pokémon café, on the 5F of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. East Building, serving Pikachu curry and character latte art, strictly by reservation, which opens 31 days ahead and vanishes in minutes. Reopened 17 June 2026 after renovation.

About

Opened in 2018 next to Pokémon Center Tokyo DX, the café is about the theatre as much as the food: plates shaped like Pikachu, Gengar or the Eevee family, latte art with a randomly chosen Pokémon, and a costumed Pikachu who appears for a short dance show with the staff during most sittings. Seatings are timed (roughly 90 minutes), food is pricier than its quality but the presentation is meticulous, and every order comes with a coaster or other giveaway. The café closed for renovation from 23 March to mid-June 2026 and reopened on 17 June 2026. Booking is the challenge: slots are released on the official reservation site 31 days in advance at 18:00 JST and the Tokyo café sells out in minutes. If you miss out, Pokémon Center Tokyo DX on the same floor is open to all without booking.
