About

Rengeshoma is a woodland perennial with nodding, lantern-like pale purple flowers that is rare in the wild. On Mt. Mitake about 50,000 plants grow on a wooded slope a two-minute walk from the cable car, in what is described as the largest colony in Japan. They bloom from late July to late August, when the Mitake Rengeshoma Festival is held.
