Minami-Ikebukuro Park is small by Tokyo standards but its renovation turned it into a model for urban parks in Japan: a single soft lawn ringed by trees, a play area and the Racines Farm to Park cafe-restaurant. It hosts weekend markets and events and is busy at lunch and on sunny afternoons. Free.
