About
Kanoto-iwa is a Tokyo-designated natural monument: a pair of limestone cliffs about 100 m high split by a stream that has carved a narrow 60 m gorge. A short route with fixed chains and ladders leads through the cleft past small cascades and out to the forest beyond. It is a dramatic but little-known stop in the quiet mountain village of Hinohara.
