Jukken Bridge Skytree Reflection 十間橋

About

Twenty minutes' walk from Oshiage, past the crowds of Tokyo Skytree Town, the Kitajukken River runs straight toward the tower through a low-rise neighbourhood of workshops and houses. From the Jukken-bashi bridge the canal and its walls line up perfectly with the Skytree, so on windless mornings and evenings the tower appears reflected end to end in the water, the "sakasa Skytree". At night the tower's Iki or Miyabi illumination doubles in the canal, and photographers set up tripods along the railings. There is nothing else here, which is exactly the point: it is a residential spot, and the neighbourhood's coffee stands and old factories make the walk back toward Oshiage or Hikifune a nice detour.
