GiGO Akihabara Building 3 GiGO秋葉原3号館
One of the surviving former-SEGA arcades in Akihabara, with crane games, rhythm games, purikura, collaboration cafés and the RETRO:G retro-game floor upstairs.
About
SEGA's red-signed arcades defined Akihabara for decades; after the GENDA takeover they became GiGO, and Building 1 closed in August 2025. Building 3, just off Chuo-dori, carries on the tradition: a ground floor of UFO catchers with prize figures, upper floors of rhythm and card games, a purikura corner, rotating anime collaboration cafés and the RETRO:G floor of classic games. It's smaller and calmer than the old flagship but has the same 'Akiba arcade' energy.
Highlights
- Ground-floor UFO catchers with exclusive prize figures
- RETRO:G floor of classic and retro games
- Rotating anime collaboration café
- Rhythm-game floor and purikura
Tips
- GiGO Buildings 2 and 5 are nearby if one is busy
- Check the GiGO site for current collab café themes and booking
- Use the official GiGO app for occasional prize campaigns
- Prizes from crane games are often cheaper to win than to buy at second-hand shops, if you're patient
