About

Nishino opened in 2018 as the second shop of Raamen Koike. Its broth combines three dashi bases (niboshi, shellfish and animal stock) balanced with a light soy sauce, delicate yet rich, and the menu is famously short: chuka soba and sansho soba, which adds the tingle of Japanese pepper. Shrimp wontons and seasonal chilled sudachi noodles are also recommended. It is in a basement a few minutes from Hongo-sanchome and the University of Tokyo.
