About

Azabudai Hills opened in November 2023 after more than three decades of land assembly by Mori Building, and its centrepiece, the Mori JP Tower, overtook Osaka's Abeno Harukas as Japan's tallest building. The tower's gently curving glass skin, by Pelli Clarke & Partners, catches the light differently from every angle, while at its base Heatherwick Studio's low-rise buildings swell up like waves, their roofs planted with trees and threaded with paths around a central green. The complex mixes offices, Aman Residences, the international British School, a market hall of fine-food shops, galleries and teamLab Borderless, and the whole hillside is designed to be walked. From the Central Square and nearby streets you get some of the closest modern-meets-retro views of Tokyo Tower, a few hundred metres away. The 33rd-floor sky lobby is now reserved for customers of the restaurants and cafe up there.
