Asakusa Nishi-sando Arcade 浅草西参道商店街
A covered Edo-style shopping arcade leading to the west side of Senso-ji, with red lanterns, wooden signs and the Rokku entertainment district at its end.
About
Stand at the Denboin-dori end of Nishi-sando and shoot north along the arcade: wooden-style shopfronts, hanging lanterns and old-fashioned signs line both sides under a high roof, leading toward Senso-ji's west entrance. Because it is covered, the light is even and it works well on rainy days. Evening, when the lanterns are lit, gives the warmest tones. It is a working shopping street: no tripods, do not photograph shopkeepers without asking, and keep the walkway clear.
