About
Toyotomi Hideyoshi built Nagahama Castle as his first castle around 1575. A castle-style keep was built on the site in 1983 and houses the Nagahama Castle Historical Museum, covering Hideyoshi and the Nagahama region, with a top-floor view over Lake Biwa. It stands in Hokoen Park, a famous cherry blossom spot.
