About
Built in 1677 for the Ii lords and modelled on a Tang Chinese palace garden, Genkyuen has a large pond with four islands linked by bridges and a circular path. Hikone Castle's national-treasure keep rises behind it, and visitors can have matcha in the pavilions by the water.
