About

Universal Studios Japan opened in 2001 on the Osaka waterfront and is one of the most visited theme parks in the world. Its biggest draw is Super Nintendo World (2021), a walk-through Mushroom Kingdom with Mario Kart: Koopas Challenge, Yoshis Adventure, Power-Up Band interactive games, and since 2024 the Donkey Kong Country area with the Mine-Cart Madness coaster. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter recreates Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle, with the Forbidden Journey ride. Other areas include Jurassic Park with The Flying Dinosaur coaster, Minion Park and Hollywood Dream coaster. Every year brings limited-time collaborations with anime and games and the Halloween Horror Nights season. Tickets are date-based, and an Express Pass is all but essential on busy days.
