About
Sumiyoshi Park sits directly west of Sumiyoshi Taisha, and its central avenue leads toward the shrine. The land was once the shore, and the park still has the stands of black pine that were planted along the old beach. Today it is a local park with a pond, cherry trees, a children's area and space to sit in the shade. It makes a natural extension to a visit to the shrine.
