About

Kiji sits in Takimi-koji, a basement recreation of a 1950s Osaka street beneath the Umeda Sky Building. The space seats just a dozen or so around the teppan, and the chef cooks everything in front of you with theatrical flicks of the spatula. The okonomiyaki is light and fluffy; the modan-yaki with noodles and the negi-yaki (green onion) are also stars, as is the tonpei-yaki (pork rolled in omelette). It pairs perfectly with a visit to the Floating Garden Observatory upstairs.
