Nakanoshima Park 中之島公園
Osaka's first public park, opened in 1891 at the eastern tip of Nakanoshima island between two rivers, with a free rose garden of about 3,700 bushes, riverside lawns and the city's classic night views.
About
Nakanoshima Park stretches along the eastern end of the island, from the Central Public Hall to the point where the Dojima and Tosabori rivers meet at the Okawa. Its Rose Garden has around 3,700 bushes of over 300 varieties and blooms spectacularly in mid-May and again in October, entry free. Riverside terraces, cafes and restaurants line the park, and the riverside promenade is the best place to see Nakanoshima's Taisho-era buildings, the bridges and the office towers of Kitahama lit up at night. In December the Osaka Hikari-Renaissance festival projects light shows onto the Central Public Hall and decorates the area.
