Kakuuchi, drinking in a corner of a liquor shop, is one of Osakas most local pleasures, and Maruho Sakaten in Kujo is a great example with a craft-beer twist. By day it is a busy shop; on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings the standing bar opens, pouring craft beers and sake at shop prices with simple snacks. The same company runs a 12-tap craft beer bistro in Namba, but the Kujo original is the one for atmosphere: a mix of regulars, brewers and curious travellers on their way to or from Kyocera Dome or Universal Studios.
