About

Ganko started as a small sushi shop in Juso in 1963 and grew into one of Kansais best-known Japanese restaurant groups, instantly recognisable by its logo of a stubborn-looking man in a headband. The Umeda flagship near Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station is a large, comfortable restaurant with counter seats and private rooms, a long menu of nigiri, sushi sets, tempura and kaiseki-style courses, and staff used to foreign visitors. It is not a destination counter, but it is a dependable, good-value place to try classic sushi with family or a group, open long hours with little waiting.
