Zen Cafe opened in 2012 as a contemporary offshoot of Kagizen Yoshifusa, one of Gion's oldest confectioners. It serves kuzumochi, seasonal sweets and drinks in a quiet, minimalist machiya-style space. It is a calm retreat from busy Shijo-dori.
