About

The Pontocho Kaburenjo is a 1920s theatre with a tiled, Western-influenced facade at the north end of Pontocho alley. Each May the geiko and maiko of Pontocho perform the Kamogawa Odori, a dance programme first held in 1872, and in October they give the more formal Suimeikai recital. An English website explains the programme and booking.
