Kobushi Ramen 拳ラーメン
A quirky, creative shop near Umekoji-Kyotonishi with a cult seafood ramen, a chicken paitan called "Knuckle Punch" and abura-soba with egg rice.
Full-topping Kobushi ramen: ¥1,000
About
Kobushi ("Fist") Ramen relocated and reopened under this name in 2011 and returned in 2022 after a pause for the owner's health. The house ramen is a seafood-forward bowl that can be fully customised with toppings, and the menu also offers a chicken paitan ("Knuckle Punch"), dry tantan noodles and an abura-soba set that ends with egg rice. Prices are low and quality high: it is a Tabelog Ramen 100 shop, five minutes from Umekoji-Kyotonishi and close to the Kyoto Railway Museum.
