About
Hakusasonso was created by the painter Hashimoto Kansetsu from 1916 as his residence and studio. Its pond garden is dotted with stone lanterns and pagodas he collected, and tea houses overlook the water. A modern museum on the site shows his paintings and collection. It is a quiet alternative a few steps from the busy Ginkaku-ji approach.
