Most of Pontochos riverside decks belong to expensive restaurants, which makes Atlantis special: a relaxed bar whose kawayuka terrace, built out over the riverbank from May to September, lets you sit with a cocktail and watch the Kamo River and the lights of Higashiyama for the price of a drink. Inside is a long, comfortable bar open late. The cocktails are good, the staff speak some English, and it is a favourite of both locals and travellers.
