The information counter inside Randen's Arashiyama terminus, the tram station with the Kimono Forest, listed by Kyoto City as an official tourist information facility with English support. A central place to get bearings in Arashiyama.
About
Arashiyama gets more visitors than almost anywhere in Kyoto, and its sights are spread from Togetsukyo bridge to the bamboo grove and the Sagano temples. The information counter at Randen Arashiyama Station, the Keifuku tram terminus on the main street a few minutes from Togetsukyo, is listed by Kyoto City as a tourist information facility with English support. Ask here for walking maps, directions to the Sagano Scenic Railway and Hozugawa boats, and advice on Randen tram connections to Kitano and Ninna-ji. The station itself is worth seeing: around 600 lit poles of Kyoto Yuzen textile form the Kimono Forest, and there is a foot bath fed by Arashiyama hot spring water.
