Meriken Park メリケンパーク
Kobes harbourfront park, with the red lattice Port Tower, the white wave-shaped Maritime Museum, the "BE KOBE" sign and an earthquake memorial, all facing the sea.
About
Meriken Park, on reclaimed land between the old pier and Kobe Harbor, is the citys waterfront showcase. Its skyline includes the red Kobe Port Tower (reopened after a 2024 renovation with a rooftop deck), the white steel frame of the Kobe Maritime Museum and the Hotel Okura. The "BE KOBE" monument is the citys most popular photo spot, and the Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park preserves a section of quayside wrecked in 1995. Evening brings harbour cruises and illuminated landmarks.
