About
Nankinmachi grew from the Chinese community that settled after Kobe port opened in 1868. Two main streets meet at a square with a pavilion, and dozens of restaurants and stalls sell butaman buns, xiaolongbao and Peking duck wraps. Japan Guide's Kobe Chinatown page covers it. Lunar New Year festivities are a highlight.
