About

Opened in 1989 next to the airport, this museum is a playground for aviation fans of every age. The outdoor park displays retired aircraft including the YS-11, Japan's first post-war airliner prototype, plus helicopters and light aircraft. Inside, exhibits explain how planes fly and how Narita works, with a large Boeing 747 section and cockpit, flight simulators, engine displays and model collections, while the upper-floor observation deck looks straight across to Runway A. In 2026 the 4F restaurant was temporarily closed and the DC-8 flight experience suspended, so check what is running before you go.
