About

Oyama Afuri Shrine has a lower shrine (Shimosha) halfway up Mount Oyama, reached by the Oyama Cable Car, and a main shrine at the 1,252 m summit. In the Edo period, 'Oyama mairi' pilgrimages were hugely popular among Edo townspeople. The Shimosha terrace looks over the Kanagawa plain to Sagami Bay and Enoshima.
