Miura Kaigan Beach 三浦海岸海水浴場
A long, open sandy beach on the Tokyo Bay side of the Miura Peninsula, right by Keikyus Miura-Kaigan Station, with calm summer water and pink cherry trees along the line in early spring.
About
Miura Kaigan stretches for about 2 km along the eastern side of the Miura Peninsula facing the Boso Peninsula across the mouth of Tokyo Bay. The beach is wide, shallow and family-friendly, with a full beach-hut scene in summer and windsurfers and kite surfers the rest of the year. It is also the easiest beach to reach from central Tokyo by direct train: Keikyu runs straight to Miura-Kaigan Station. In February and March the kawazu-zakura cherry trees along the line next to the station are a famous early-spring sight.
Highlights
- 2 km of wide, shallow sand facing the Boso Peninsula
