About

Dating back to the Meiji era, the Yushukan presents Japan's military history through armour, swords, documents and large exhibits such as a Zero fighter and a steam locomotive from the Thai-Burma railway. Displays have English labels and present a conservative, nationalist view of modern history, which many visitors find worth knowing about before they go. The entrance hall with the aircraft and locomotive is free to enter.
